Website Committee
The The purpose of the website committee is to oversee the development and design of a KCHMM website and to maintain an up-to-date website for the organization published on the World Wide Web.
Goals of the website include:
- Provide for consistent and accurate information about KCHMM to the general public and the professional community;
- Enhance communication within the area by improving accessibility, accuracy and timeliness of KCHMM contacts, events and meeting information;
- Provide electronic access appropriate Chapter documents;
- Enhance knowledge of the CHMM credential and certification.
Specific duties include:
- Registration and maintenance of chapter domains including at least www.kchmm.org;
- Arranging for website hosting services;
- Providing review of content prior to posting for accuracy and appropriateness and consistency with copywrite restrictions and privacy policies; and
- Regular updating of content.
Policies and content goals will be based upon criteria from the AHMP Chapter Guidance Manual for the Chapter Website Award as follows:
- Required elements
- Current List of Chapter officers with emails and telephone contacts.
- Up-to-date annual schedule for Chapter activities.
- Chapter Bylaws.
- AHMP and Chapter Membership information.
- Email contacts for website questions, problems, and comments.
- Formal policy/procedure to insure website information is routinely updated.
- Optional elements
- Hyperlink to/from AHMP Web page.
- Hyperlink to/from IHMM Web page.
- Have link or text of the Chapter’s most recent newsletter.
- Archive of past newsletters.
- Summaries of Chapter meetings.
- Links to changes in the environmental, health and safety field.
- Friendly graphics.
- A visitor counter.
- Minimum advertisements.
- Job Posting section.
- The following content and features may be made available in a private section of the website which will be accessible by Chapter members only, and not by the general public:
- Meeting minutes.
- Member list with contact information.
- Downloadable forms for use within the Chapter.
- Other material appropriate for membership but not the general public.
