Academy of Hazardous Materials Managers - ACHMM is the member organization for Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (CHMMs). KCHMM is a "constituent" of the Academy, but is somewhat independent. KCHMM members are not automatically members of the Academy. Also, you do not have to be a CHMM to be a member of KCHMM.

Institute of Hazardous Materials Management - the Institute is the certifying body for Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (CHMMs). This site has information on the credential, review courses, and exams.

Kentucky Pollution Prevention Center - some of us still remember this group by the old name of Kentucky PARTNERS. It's a much-improved organization and the site is quite useful.

Center for Environmental Communication - The CEC brings together university investigators to provide a social science perspective to environmental problem-solving.

TSD Central - a free online service that will give you direct pricing for waste management, cleanup, and transportation services from vendors throughout the country.

ISO On-Line - web site for the International Organization for Standardization, the group that brought you ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards.

ASTM - the center for standards on almost any topic. We environmental types use "E1527-97 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment Process" quite a bit. You can order it here.

Air & Waste Management Association - A&WMA has over 14,000 members in 65 countries. The web site loads quickly and has useful information, including an employment center.

Bioremediation Discussion Group - this web site has information about the Biogroup listserv, archives of list messages, and related information about biological remediation.

American Academy of Environmental Engineers - AAEE administers the Diplomate Environmental Engineer (DEE) certification.

Institute for Professional Environmental Practice - IPEP is the independent, not-for-profit certifying body for the Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) certification.
